June 11 - The Spirit Queers Expectations: A Pride Panel!
This Wednesday in worship at 7pm we continue our Flaming: Pride + Pentecost Mashup series with a panel on queer faith! Big shout out to Tanner, Liz, and Jesi who will be letting us into their worlds a little bit and helping us to see how the Spirit queers perspectives.
June 18 - Pride is a Protest!
LGBTQIA+ liberation is interwoven with God’s vision for all people and all creation. Join us for storytime with Rachel Ternes and protest sign making! Rachel will share about her experience at a church that did the work to make Pride more intersectional and thoughtful.
June 25 - The Spirit Gives Us Chosen Family
Hear a message about chosen family, caring for each other, and being set free!
Remember how cool public libraries are with their summer reading programs? We are going to level up and give it a try! The United Methodist Church is doing a summer reading challenge assigning a chapter of scripture a day for the summer. We will read through Romans, 1 Corinthians, and 2 Corinthians. There will be reflection questions and if we have interest, I’d love to lead a weekly Bible Study too! There are different options: you can either get emails from the UMC each day or I’ll be posting on our instagram. Don’t worry - we will DEFINITELY be having prizes at Roots for those who participate!
