Pride Picnic - Wednesday, June 3 - 6:30-8:00pm
Kick off Pride Month with your church family at Roots. We will grill out and have poster making supplies for the parade on Saturday + other fun surprises announced soon. Want to help plan the picnic? Reach out to Lora or Liz Take! Sign up coming next week!
March in the Pride Parade - Saturday, June 6
March with the queerest church in town downtown at the KC Pride Parade! It will also be a chance to have some friends to walk around and experience pride with! This sign up has a spot for marching or for sign making, so be sure to fill it out to stay in the loop. This is one of the best ways to help us spread the word about Roots!

People’s Pride - Saturday, June 27 & Sunday, June 28
This is KC’s no cops + no corporations, grassroots, DIY pride event. We’d love to have a booth. If you are interested in dreaming up how we can be a great voice for this justice-filled event, reach out to Lora!
Faith in Color: Summer Reading Challenge
Spend June reading the Bible! This year’s theme: Faith in Color! That means throwback to the library as kids (or adults if your library is amazing and gives prizes for reading!) with a side of coloring. What you can expect:
A Bible story to read each week with the theme of colors! Each story will include colors (Rahab and the Red Cord, for example)
a coloring page that accompanies the story
reflection questions about the color
reflection questions about the Bible story
a discussion board on GroupMe to connect with others reading the stories to ask questions together
PRIZES for completed books!
